Zawiyah at Manor House Farm Stud 2015Zawiyah (2011 mare by Invincible Spirit out of Marju 1998 mare Marika) ran to a rating of 84 over 6 and 7f and perhaps should have achieved more on the track. Whatever, an imposing mare, she is part of a very lively family and we have great hopes for her.
Unfortunately she slipped her first foal to Excelebration although she has recovered well and in good health. She has produced a lovely colt foal to Kyllachy in January 2017 and followed up with another strong looking colt in January 2018 by 2017 first season sire Twilight Son. He subsequently sold to Cheveley Park Stud at the Doncaster Premier Yearling Sale 2019 for £26,000 and was named Twilight Calls going into training with Henry Candy. After some promising runs as a 2yo including two seconds and a rating of 85 he won at the first time of asking as a 3yo and was raised to 87. He was gelded at the backend of 2021 and has improved in 2022 winning and after racing second to Native Strip in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot he was rated 110. Zawiyah foaled a filly by Equiano in 2019 (Alice Tinker) who was in training with David Simcock followed by another filly by Twilight Son in 2020 .who was sold for £70.000 at the yearling sales in 2021 and is called Fools And Horses and trained by Clive Cox. Her colt by the same sire in 2021 sold for £52,000 at Goffs Premier Sale and she is currently in foal to Twilight Son yet again.
Her mother Marika (out of a Northfields mare) was a listed winner over 6f (the Cecil Frail) and has produced seven winners including French listed winner and Group 3 placed Sabratah who is now a broodmare. Sabratah has a five year old colt by Dubawi called Muttrah Fort who races in France and has won three races and over €100k for his owners. She also has a three year old colt by Frankel called Syrtis who won his first race and then came second in a Group 3 at Chantilly in Oct 2018 and is rated 103. Next comes a two year old colt by Frankel sold for €600,000 at the Arqana Yearling Sale in August 2018. Marika also has Folly Lodge, International Love and La Sibilla as active broodmares but is still active herself and has a five year old Lawman mare called Mitigate who ran out an easy four length winner of her maiden in February 2017. She was covered by Lethal Force in 2018 and was sold to Cambridge Stud in New Zealand for 50,000 guineas in Dec 2018. She also has a 2015 gelding by Intello called Nordic Lights (who sold at the 2017 Newmarket Craven breeze up sale for 575k guineas bought by Godolphin won three races and reached a rating of 109), a Charm Spirit 2016 colt called Kick On, who won 7 races including a Group 3 and also reached a level of 109. A Kingman colt (King Of Arms) followed in 2017 and he has reached a high of 79 and won a race and Marika had another colt by Oasis Dream in 2018 called Duke Of Prussia. Marika also has 2012 colt Raw Impulse (by Makfi) who was lightly raced in the UK but won a race in 2015 and reached a rating of 90 before being exported to Australia where he won first time out over 7.5f in March 2016 and followed up by winning his next two races at Caulfield for a hat trick of wins and over Aus$100k winnings. After a winter break he gained black type in September 2016 by winning a Listed race over 9f by five lengths before moving to New Zealand.
