Redskin Dancer at Tara Stud, Ireland in April 2015Redskin Dancer at Tara Stud, Ireland in April 2015Redskin Dancer (2008 mare by Namid out of a Generous mare called Red Affair) reached a rating of 90 and won a 6f race in Ireland. Her full sister Redstone Dancer won a Group 3 and was rated 110 and has been at stud a number of years. "Redstone" currently has a four year old filly called Island Drive by Kodiac who fetched 88,000 guineas at the yearling sales and who won on debut at Kempton in July 2017 very impressively but did not follow up. She was retired in 2018 and had a colt by Churchill but the foal unfortunately died. She was then covered by Expert Eye. Redstone also has a 2016 full brother to Island Drive called Pardon My French who won three times in France as a two year old and reached a rating of 97. One who never ran for Redstone is Galileo 2011 mare Duty who was sold to Brazil and was covered by Scat Daddy in 2014 on Southern Hemisphere time. The resultant colt, London Town, won his first two starts in Brazil.

"Redskin" was also covered by Kodiac in 2015 after being  barren to the same sire a year earlier (twins that both died) and had a filly foal in 2016 who sold for 80,000 guineas at the yearling sales, is called Kiwiana (bought by a Kiwi!) and was based in France with N Clement. She only ran a couple of times before being retired to be a broodmare. In 2021 she had a filly by Fas who is a son of Fastnet Rock and returned to the same sire in 2021. Redskin's first foal to race was 2013 mare Lincoln Rocks (by Rock Of Gibraltar) who had a couple of runs in 2015 when trained by Alan McCabe and then moved to David O'Meara. She turned in a greatly improved performance in May 2016 on her three year old debut when keeping on stoutly and finishing second in a one mile Carlisle maiden beaten less than two lengths. Subsequently she won at Beverley over 7.5f giving Redskin a winner with her first runner followed by further wins at Haydock, Hamilton and Musselburgh. She added to her wins in June 2017 with a second success over 1m at Musselburgh and then won black type by taking a listed race at Pontefract in July followed by a win at York in a valuable handicap over 7f in August. She did not win at five but was group and listed placed before being retired with seven wins from 31 runs and over £164,000 in prize money with a top rating of 106. She has been retired and produced a filly foal by Churchill in 2020 and a 2021 filly by Saxon Warrior. 2021 saw her visit Moohather.

Redskin has a year younger half sister Red Intrigue (2007 mare by Selkirk) who has already had a listed winner in 2013 gelding Riflescope (by Raven's Pass) and has a 2014 mare by Dark Angel called Belle Diva who won as a two year old, is now a broodmare and had a filly foal by Havana Gold in 2019, a 2020 colt by Kessaar before being covered by Calyx. Her 2015 mare by Rip Van Winkle is My Better Half who did not run and is also now a broodmare who had a filly foal by Holy Roman Emperor in 2019, a colt by Kuroshio in 2020 before visiting Mehmas. There is also a 2016 filly by Toronado called Elena who has been placed a few times and is now also a broodmare, a 2017 colt by Exceed and Excel called Sounds Of Rain and a 2019 filly by Showcasing.

The focus on Kodiac as a covering sire for this family probably has a lot to do with the success of Elleval (2010 gelding by Kodiac out of half sister 2000 mare Penny Rouge) who has been Group 3 placed and won £556,000 with a lot of success at Meydan. Penny Rouge has a 2015 ten time winning filly in Italy by Society Rock called Dolce Amira and a half sister by Zebedee called Simply Magic who has a 2016 filly by Kodiac. Penny Rouge also has a 2018 filly by Kodi Bear and a 2019 colt by Cotai Glory.

All in all, a family mostly of sprinter/milers that looks to be on the up. Redskin Dancer is a very attractive, strong type and has foaled a chesnut colt by Kyllachy in 2017 called International Lion who was in  training with Richard Fahey when he won a race. In 2018 Redskin had another colt by Territories who is racing for us with Christophe Ferland in France in 2021She was not covered in 2018 but visited Oasis Dream early in 2019 and produced a filly foal in 2020 after which she produced a colt by Bated Breath in 2021.
