Aureana (Kyllachy x Going For Gold 2014 mare) had her first foal in 2019, a beautiful filly by Footstepsinthesand who saw the light of day at Haras Du Logis in Normandy in February 2019. She is the first foal in our ownership from a horse also bred by James Ortega Bloodstock. Aureana is a half sister to listed placed Chicadoro, who is also now a broodmare, as well as to 98 rated 2015 colt Kaanoon who won three times at three years old. Her full brother, Be Fair (2016), was in training in the UK with Tony Carroll and won five races in his flat career with a top rating of 69.
Aureana visited Bated Breath, who is also the sire of Kaanoon, in 2019 and produced a sizeable colt in April 2020. She was then covered by local resident Ultra, who is a son of Manduro, but unfortunately lost the embryo early in the pregnancy.
The Footstepsinthesand filly has developed well as a yearling and looks elegant and racy. She sold for €20,000 at the Arqana Yearling Sale in October 2020 purchased by Paul Nataf for Haras De Gousserie and is likely to be trained by Frederic Rossi. She has been named Pretty Persuasive. Her Bated Breath colt was sold at the Arqana October Yearling Sale to Jean-Claude Rouget for €40,000 and is named First Page. He made his debut in August 2022 and came 4th at Mont-de-Marsan. Aureana visited The Grey Gatsby in 2021 and had a colt foal on 16 Feb 2022. He has since been named Eminence Grise and will race for us with Eric Libaud in France. In March 2022 she visited Al Wukair and was in foal but unfortunately in mid April she had a colic attack, and despite receiving immediate surgery, she passed away.
First Page went on to win his maiden over 1600m at La Teste in March 2023 and reached a rating of 39 in kilo terms which = 86 in lbs.
